"Had fillet steak last night - we thought it was the best we've ever had. True."

"Excellent food and company!"

"One of the best pub meals I've had….. The food.. was excellent. It was freshly cooked, tasty and in generous portions. The brioche bread & butter pudding was magnificent!"

"Visited recently with my wife superb food in nice surroundings with friendly staff. A real dining experience which we hope to repeat soon."

"Had Sunday lunch at the White Hart for the last two weeks. The food and service were brilliant. The roast beef is to die for and it's really nice to be asked how you would like your beef cooked! The chocolate mousse cake is superb! Really great, friendly, happy atmosphere. Will definitely be back very soon, well done everyone at the White Hart!"

"What a lovely atmosphere in a warm and friendly pub. A very big thank you to Tracey and James for welcoming myself and family with some lovely food and perfectly cooked liver."

"We ate at The White Hart for the first time in years last week and we'll definitely be coming again. The food can only be described as delicious and quite reasonably priced. Our party of three had the liver pate and the brie wrapped in Parma ham, followed by the steak in garlic butter with chips. It was memorable - well done to the chef. The waitress/barmaid also deserves a mention. She was polite and attentive without being intrusive. 10 out of 10 all round."

"My friend Jo and I fell upon the pub Monday night after getting a llittle lost, we had no intention of eating but are easily distracted, so stopped the car and went in! So glad we did, the atmosphere was great the Owners and staff were very attentive and the food was absolutely amazing!! The Chicken Kiev was a sight to behold, it was a monster of fresh chicken breast, which fresh roasted veg, and an amazing tomato salad, I went for the Piri Piri pork, and that was fantastic, the servings were more than plenty, and the quality was the best I have had in a very long time!
Highly recommended!"

"Visited on our weekend break to Newbury this weekend. Only 12 miles away in the Berkshire Hills there was a very warm welcome in this beautifully designed spacious pub. The menus are on chalk boards and ranged from Sausage of the day and Mash to Thai Chicken Curry through to Lamb Shank and the usual steaks etc. Desserts were home made at £4.95. Not the cheapest pub around but the chef here knows what he's doing and it was beautifully presented and extremely tasty. What a friendly place and even the kids had manners. My wife suggested it was like the Village of the Damned but I think she meant it in the nicest possible way. The beer was typical Green King stuff I'm afraid with Morlands Original and Abbot Ale - nothing in between that night. I had enough of them to keep me going for a day or two so I've no complaints here. I first came here 12 years ago and it's amazing how a place can change - for the better. If I lived here then I'd certainly be a regular. Tried to take a picture without success but my next trip will be in a month or so and I'll take one in daylight. A good find. What are you waiting for?"
